Interior Minister Yerlikaya emphasizes Türkiye's determination against terrorism
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reaffirms Türkiye's unwavering stance against terrorism, highlighting the country's ongoing efforts to combat terrorist threats domestically and beyond
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reiterated Türkiye's resolute stance against terrorism during a visit to Hakkari province Wednesday.
"We have once again proclaimed that terrorist organizations of any kind have no chance of success on these lands," the minister said.
Yerlikaya, who visited local businesses and conversed with shop owners and citizens, also met with police and gendarmerie personnel at the Special Operations Directorate.
"We have been combating terrorism for 40 years, during which we have lost over 40,000 martyrs," Yerlikaya stated, emphasizing that Türkiye now strikes terrorists not only domestically but also at their sources.
"Everyone sees the epic feats of our soldiers. Regardless of the weather conditions, our troops continuously and steadfastly neutralize and eliminate terrorist nests in Iraq and Syria, wherever they are located, by air and land," Yerlikaya added.
He highlighted the unwavering commitment of Türkiye's leadership, saying: "We have a leader who declares, 'We will never allow terrorist islands to be established on our borders,' and we stand by that."
Determination to make this century 'Türkiye century'
Reflecting on his time as the Governor of Şırnak province in 2007, Yerlikaya recalled the lack of military bases in the region at that time. Today, he emphasized, these bases are equipped with advanced technology, showcasing the intensity of the ongoing struggle against terrorism.
Meeting with security forces at the Koc Tepe Military Base, Yerlikaya expressed pride and admiration for their dedication, saying, "We have all the facilities there, socially. Transportation is not a problem for us. In the skies, we have more UAVs, drones, ANKA drones, Atak helicopters than birds. We have the experience that no other country in the world possesses."
"We have once again declared that terrorist organizations of any kind have no chance of success on these lands," Yerlikaya reiterated.
"Now, we are working towards the vision of a greater and stronger Türkiye, determined to leave the mark of 'Türkiye's Century' on this century with Allah's permission."
Yerlikaya emphasized no meadows are prohibited and no roads are closed due to security reasons in the region, stating: "All thanks to you, with your determination, courage, and faith, we are at the service of our nation. We do not differentiate between the peace of cities and rural areas. We are here for the peace of Türkiye."
In closing, Yerlikaya conveyed his greetings, love, and prayers to all personnel serving at various points, urging the citizens to pass on his gratitude to their colleagues.
Yerlikaya concluded by saying that he handed over seven crime organizations to justice recently.
