Minister Bayraktar expresses confidence in Türkiye's future following local elections

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar shared his views on the results of the March 31 local elections and discussed the future plans of the ministry.

In his statement, Bayraktar said, "Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, we will proceed toward our century goals with even more determined steps."

Expressing his hope that the March 31 Local Administration General Elections would be auspicious for the country and the nation, Bayraktar stated: "We value the will reflected by our people at the ballot box. Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, we will proceed with more determined steps toward our century goals. Hopefully, with new discoveries and visionary policies, we will liberate our country from energy dependency and make this century the century of energy."

Minister Bayraktar aims for energy independence

Bayraktar had previously stated that they were striving to implement policies and projects that would make Türkiye energy independent and self-sufficient.

Bayraktar reported that a very important gas discovery was made in the Black Sea and that they aimed to increase production rapidly. They were working to meet the people's natural gas needs from local sources.

Touching upon Türkiye's oil discoveries, Bayraktar said that Türkiye's highest-quality oil was produced in Gabar, an area that was previously associated with terrorism.

Bayraktar, noting that Türkiye has significant gold imports, said that the potential in gold mining should be better utilized, stating, "Within the next five years, we must  increase our gold production to at least 100 tons annually."
